Future pathway : providing support throughout schooling

  • For middle school students

    Careers fair
This fair, which Vauban organises every April, is a chance for middle school students to discover current and future careers, whether academic or vocational, thanks to presentations by professionals in the art, gastronomy, education, banking and financial sectors, etc.

    Company visit
5e students get to discover the professional world in Luxembourg during a company visit.

An introduction to thinking about future pathways
From 4e and 3e, students are encouraged to reflect on their future pathway choices through preparatory tests and interviews. The Guidance Service can also help students who wish to pursue a vocational pathway.

    Work experience
3e students carry out a one-week work placement in a company or a sports, cultural or humanitarian association to get a glimpse of what professional life is like.

  • For high school students

    The ADN-AEFE scheme
This is a school exchange programme that allows students to spend several weeks studying at a partner school in another country. Students take part in pairs and are hosted by local families.
    Discover the ADN-AEFE scheme

Choosing specialist subjects for the baccalauréat
In Seconde, students are guided in choosing their specialist subjects.

    Work experience in Seconde
As part of their discovery of the world of work, Seconde students carry out a two-week work placement in a company, a cultural or sports organisation or an association involved in social or humanitarian work. This hands-on experience allows them to better understand what life is like in the workplace, see how their interests match the realities of the working world and reflect on their academic and professional future.

Work experience for the technological baccalauréat specialising in management and business studies (STMG)
In Première and Terminale, students put the topics studied into practice during a one-week work placement in a company or a sports, cultural or humanitarian association.

    Education fair
In November or December each year, the Guidance Service brings together over a hundred exhibitors, enabling over a thousand visitors to find out about further study opportunities at universities and at art, business and engineering schools, both in France and abroad.

Meetings on post-secondary pathways in France and abroad

    Themed conferences
These conferences organised throughout the year aim to introduce students to study programmes and student life in a particular country, or to provide an insight into a profession or business sector.

    ‘Motivation interview’ morning
Each Terminale student is interviewed by two professionals about their guidance plan.
This 45-minute exercise highlights the strengths of the student’s oral presentation and identifies areas for improvement. Students benefit from expert advice from the jury to prepare successfully for their upcoming motivation interviews.
